01Who we are

Prometheus Labs LLC ("Prometheus Labs", "we", "us") makes River, an AI platform for mid-market commercial insurance brokerages. This policy covers two things: this website, prometheuslabscom.com, and the information River processes for the brokerages that use it.

02This website

This website is a set of informational pages.

No cookies, analytics or advertising. The site does not set cookies or run analytics, advertising or social-media tracking.
No forms. The contact and demo buttons open your own email app. If you email us, we receive what you send (such as your name, email address and message) and use it to reply.
Standard request data. Like any website, our hosting provider processes basic technical information about each visit, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure. We do not use it to identify or profile visitors.

03Data in River

Brokerages use River to manage their client accounts. River processes the information a brokerage and its staff choose to bring into it, such as:

Insurance documents and files they upload.
Email, calendar and meeting information from business accounts a broker chooses to connect.
Account, contact, task and billing records the brokerage creates.
Files and messages a brokerage's clients send through River, where the brokerage offers it.
Sign-in and usage information, used to secure and operate the service.

The brokerage controls this data. We process it on the brokerage's behalf, as its service provider, under our agreement with that brokerage. We do not sell it, and we do not use one brokerage's data for another.

04How we use information

To provide River: read documents, organize accounts, draft work for brokers to review, and answer their questions.
To keep River secure and reliable, investigate problems and respond to support requests.
To bill the brokerage for its subscription and usage.
To reply to people who email us.
To meet legal obligations.

05AI processing

Trusted AI providers. River uses AI services from established providers under terms that do not allow them to use customer data to train their models.
People stay in control. River prepares drafts and suggestions; brokers review and approve the information River extracts, decide what is sent, and make every coverage and binding decision.

06Security

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, keeping each brokerage's data separate, and monitoring. Data is stored in the United States.

No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a security incident affecting your information, we will notify affected customers and others as the law requires.

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate River and this website, under contracts that limit their use of it, in these categories:

Cloud hosting and infrastructure.
AI and document-processing services.
Email delivery and communications.
Payment processing.
Mapping and public-records lookups.
Business accounts a broker chooses to connect, such as email, calendar or meeting services.

Brokerage customers may request information about our service providers under their agreement with us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people or our services, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.

08Retention

We keep River data for as long as the brokerage's account is active and as our agreement with the brokerage provides. When a brokerage deletes records or leaves River, we delete them, except for records we must keep for legal, regulatory, security or backup purposes, which are retained for limited periods and then deleted. Emails sent to us are kept as long as needed to respond and for our records.

09Your choices and rights

Data in River. If your information is in River because a brokerage uses it (for example, you are one of its clients), please contact that brokerage first. It controls the data, and we will help it respond.
Everything else. To ask what we hold about you, or to correct or delete it, email support@prometheuslabscom.com. We will respond within the time the law allows and may need to confirm who you are.
Connected accounts. A broker can disconnect a connected account in River at any time.

Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law. We will honor them.

10Children

This website and River are for businesses. They are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

11Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date.
